A Polite Revolution

Oh good heavens, it's time to put a stop to all of this nonsense. Time for a polite revolution. Yes, it is true; the politicians really ARE insincere, recycling the same ideas time and again. Yes, the inspiration HAS gone. Yes, of course it's true that cigarettes give you cancer and you will probably see your son or daughter die a slow and painful death. Yes, it's true we don't know a hill of beans about how to manage people and yes, the vast majority of managers shouldn't be managing anything anyway so inept they are. And yes, we keep killing each other we should stop.

And yes, the karaoke culture that parades as music is as empty as the promises of government manifestos. And yes, it has been our collusion with this mediocrity that has allowed a health service to decline, in fact allowed service in just about EVERY sector to decline massively with our full economic support. <

And yes TV is clichéd and formulaic and yes of course people have a right to privacy, and yes corruption is rife in business and public service. And yes we hardly care about our friends let alone our fellow man. And of course computers shouldn't be allowed to have bugs in them that WE pay for. And of course the Internet is not the new Shangri La. And of course we are devastating the planet and turning our children into screwed up little adults. And yes we are becoming more distanced from each other and detached. And yes we use ever more desperate superlatives to describe ever more mediocre products, services and experiences.

>It's time for a polite revolution. Let it begin over a pot of tea. Tell it like it is to a person over a toasted muffin with butter, and a cup of real leaf Assam. Don't compromise. Be radical. Ask for a menu now. In fact don't ask for a menu- politely demand one!
